Converge ICT Solutions Inc. co-founder and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy has called for greater transparency and accountability in governance to help the Philippines maximize opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies.

Speaking at the 52nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E), organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) on October 14, Uy emphasized that transparent government processes and reduced bureaucracy are essential to attracting investment and supporting digital transformation.

“Today, global investors and foreign partners are knocking on our door, eager to do business with the Philippines. They see our location, our workforce, and our potential,” Uy said, while warning that corruption and red tape continue to hinder progress.

He also cited Executive Order No. 119, s. 2026, establishing a Data Residency Framework, and the creation of a Center for AI Research as initiatives that could strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem and expand its participation in the global technology sector.

Converge has partnered with PCCI to advance digital adoption among Philippine businesses. In 2025, the two organizations placed digital and information and communications technology (ICT) solutions at the forefront of the PBC&E, bringing together more than 85 local and international technology brands to showcase innovations.

Uy’s remarks highlighted the role of governance in creating an environment where businesses can invest in digital infrastructure, develop AI capabilities, and adopt emerging technologies.

The governance concerns he raised also reflect broader public sentiment. Pulse Asia Research reported on October 15 that corruption and inflation were the top two issues concerning Filipinos in its latest Ulat ng Bayan survey.

PCCI recognized Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy for his leadership as chair of the 51st Philippine Business Conference & Expo last year. He is pictured onstage with PCCI President Perry Ferrer, 52nd PBC&E Chairman Butch Guerrero, PCCI Chairman Jude Aguilar, and other PCCI executives.

Speaking at the 52nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E), Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy emphasized the need for good governance to support the growth of emerging technologies. He stressed that transparency and accountability are essential to turning digital transformation opportunities into meaningful economic progress for the Philippines.
