Artificial intelligence is reshaping how Filipino consumers discover brands online, with mentions of Philippine brands in Google AI Overviews increasing more than 23-fold in 2025, according to a 12-month study by digital marketing firm Truelogic.
The study tracked 80 brands across seven sectors and found that retail, e-commerce, and real estate recorded the strongest growth in AI visibility. During the same period, organic branded traffic across 80 Philippine websites declined by 3% to 8%. However, the study did not establish a direct cause-and-effect relationship between the two trends.
Truelogic found that brands with stronger visibility in AI-generated answers generally had higher brand search interest, well-structured content, and optimized websites.
“Being found is no longer just about ranking for the right keywords,” said Bernard San Juan III, Managing Partner of Truelogic. He emphasized the importance of making expertise verifiable, organizing content around customer questions, and maintaining a presence across credible sources, including news coverage, reviews, and social media.
From Traditional SEO to AI Search
Unlike traditional search engines, which present lists of links, AI-powered search tools can provide direct answers, comparisons, and recommendations. This shift is prompting businesses to adapt their search engine optimization (SEO) strategies so AI platforms can better understand their content and recognize their credibility.
According to the Digital 2026 report by We Are Social, Meltwater, and GWI, 42.4% of Filipino internet users surveyed reported using ChatGPT in the previous month, placing the Philippines sixth globally.
Truelogic also reported that its clients across 40 projects recorded a 750% increase in AI visibility from January to July 2025, compared with a 400% average across Philippine websites during the same period.
Among the unnamed clients, a leading Philippine bank achieved a 38.1% AI share of voice within its peer group. A major property developer recorded a 53.38% share across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity—3.8 times that of its closest competitor.
These findings suggest that brand size alone does not guarantee visibility in AI-generated responses. Businesses must also build digital authority, structure content effectively, and establish credibility across trusted online channels.
