Atty. Laurice Esteban-Tuason proudly displays the Kabataang Digital Award during the Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) Awards 2026 held at Okada Manila. The recognition was awarded by the National Privacy Commission for Converge’s Project PIGLET initiative, which promotes digital literacy, privacy awareness, and online safety among young Filipinos.

Leading broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has received the Kabataang Digital Award from the National Privacy Commission (NPC), recognizing the company’s efforts to promote digital privacy awareness and online safety among young Filipinos.

The award was presented during the NPC’s 2026 Privacy Awareness Week Awards, which honors organizations and individuals that have made significant contributions to strengthening data privacy and responsible data processing in the Philippines.

Converge earned the recognition through Project PIGLET (Privacy Integration through Guided Learning of Emerging Technologies), an educational initiative launched in 2024 by the company’s Corporate Governance and Data Privacy Group. The program aims to improve digital literacy and teach children how to protect their personal information online.

Using interactive storytelling and a space-themed adventure, Project PIGLET introduces school-age children to key concepts in digital safety, privacy rights, and responsible online behavior. The program also encourages parents and guardians to actively participate, reinforcing the idea that protecting children’s personal data is a shared responsibility.

Since its launch, the initiative has reached schools across Metro Manila, Mindoro, and Pampanga, as well as employees and families within Converge. The company said the program aligns with its broader “Tech For Good” mission, which focuses on ensuring that access to digital connectivity is matched with strong data privacy protection.

Accepting the award, Laurice-Esteban Tuason emphasized the importance of creating a safe and responsible digital environment for the next generation. She noted that the recognition reflects the collective effort behind Project PIGLET and the company’s commitment to empowering young internet users.

The recognition further highlights the growing importance of digital literacy and cybersecurity education as more children gain access to online platforms and connected technologies.
