Lenovo has unveiled a large-scale AI-powered infrastructure platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, enabling near real-time video distribution, intelligent content delivery, and advanced tournament operations for what is expected to be the biggest World Cup in history.

As FIFA’s Official Technology Partner, Lenovo will deploy AI-enabled servers and computing infrastructure across key tournament operations, including the International Broadcast Center in Dallas, Texas, and FIFA’s Technology Command Center in Miami. The company will also provide more than 17,000 Lenovo and Motorola devices, supported by over 200 engineers across venues and team training sites.

A key innovation is Lenovo’s ultra-low-latency IPTV platform, which reduces broadcast delays to under five seconds. Powered by Lenovo ThinkSystem SR635 V3 servers, the system will ingest, process, and distribute live match feeds across 10 channels to more than 1,000 screens throughout World Cup venues, enabling near real-time access for fans, media, officials, and VIPs.

Beyond broadcasting, Lenovo’s AI infrastructure will support FIFA’s Technology Command Center, providing near real-time monitoring of stadium technology systems, live streaming operations, and rapid incident detection to ensure uninterrupted tournament operations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The company is also introducing AI-powered fan engagement features, including 3D player avatars designed to help explain complex officiating decisions such as offsides. AI-driven navigation systems, stabilized referee-view camera feeds, and immersive digital experiences will further enhance the tournament experience for spectators.

In addition, Lenovo will deploy the FIFA AI Pro platform, an AI-powered analytics and knowledge assistant built using its AI Factory infrastructure. The platform will be available to all 48 participating teams, providing coaches, players, and analysts with access to advanced tactical insights and performance data.

The FIFA World Cup 2026™ is expected to feature 48 national teams and attract an estimated six billion viewers worldwide, making it one of the largest technology deployments ever undertaken for a global sporting event.
