PlayTime shared a congratulatory banner across its official social media channels, celebrating its Dota 2 roster’s historic qualification for the Esports World Cup 2026. The visual post highlights the team’s breakthrough run and marks the organization’s milestone achievement on the international stage, as fans and the community praised the squad’s successful campaign and entry into one of esports’ most prestigious competitions.

PlayTime’s Dota 2 roster has secured a historic qualification for the Esports World Cup 2026, earning the final direct invitation to the prestigious $2 million tournament after a strong performance at DreamLeague Season 29.

A photo shared by PlayTime on its official social media channels shows the EPT (ESL Pro Tour) leaderboard, with PlayTime’s Dota 2 roster ranked 11th overall. The post highlights the team’s strong rise in standings following its breakthrough performance in recent competitions, which ultimately secured its qualification for the Esports World Cup 2026.

The Philippine-based team booked its spot following a breakthrough run that included a key victory over BetBoom Team, a recent champion of PGL Wallachia Season 8. The result helped PlayTime secure a Top 6 finish in the tournament and accumulate enough ESL Pro Tour points to climb the global standings, surpassing established organizations such as Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, and PARIVISION.

DreamLeague Season 29, part of the ESL Pro Tour circuit, serves as one of the main qualification pathways to the Esports World Cup, one of the largest esports events globally featuring 24 game titles and a multi-million-dollar prize pool. The 2026 edition is set to take place in Paris, France, from July 6 to August 23, with a record-breaking $75 million total prize pool.

With this qualification, PlayTime becomes the only Philippine-based organization to secure a Dota 2 slot at the Esports World Cup 2026, joining elite international teams such as Team Spirit, Team Falcons, Team Liquid, OG, Virtus.pro, and Aurora Gaming.

The road to qualification was challenging, with PlayTime entering DreamLeague Season 29 holding fewer than 500 EPT points. After a competitive group stage and tiebreaker matches for an upper bracket position, the team advanced through the lower bracket and delivered consecutive upsets, including a 2–1 win over Natus Vincere and a crucial playoff victory against BetBoom Team.

Team management credited the roster’s resilience, highlighting the contributions of players WITS, DARKMAGO, FRANK, SCOFIELD, and ELMISHO, alongside Coach VINTAGE and analyst Luan. According to the organization, the achievement reflects the long-term vision of its PT Sports division, which was launched earlier this year to build a sustainable competitive esports program.

PlayTime’s run ultimately ended against reigning The International champions Team Falcons, but the team’s performance has been widely praised by the Dota 2 community as a landmark moment for Philippine esports representation on the global stage.

Following their campaign, the roster is expected to return to Peru for a short break before resuming preparations for The International qualifiers and the upcoming Esports World Cup 2026.
