PLDT Home is encouraging Filipino households to strengthen emergency preparedness by including reliable home communication systems as part of their family safety plans.
As emergencies and natural disasters continue to highlight the importance of fast communication, PLDT Home emphasized that landline connectivity can serve as a dependable backup option for contacting emergency hotlines, hospitals, barangays, relatives, and first responders.
The company noted that emergency readiness goes beyond stockpiling food, water, flashlights, and medicine. Families are also encouraged to create clear communication plans, teach children and seniors how to contact emergency services, and keep important hotline numbers visible inside the home.
Among the emergency numbers households are advised to display are the National Emergency Hotline 911, Philippine National Police, Philippine Red Cross, MMDA, local fire stations, and barangay rescue hotlines.
According to data cited from the Philippine Information Agency, the Unified 911 Emergency Hotline handled more than 5.2 million calls from January to April 2026, highlighting the growing importance of accessible emergency communication systems for Filipino families.
PLDT Home said its fiber internet plans bundled with landline services aim to support safer and more connected homes by providing households with an additional communication channel during emergencies.
The initiative reflects how telecommunications technology continues to play a critical role in disaster readiness, home safety, and community resilience across the Philippines.
