PLDT executives led by PLDT COO Butch Jimenez joined the launch of the PPCRV-AMA Command Center for the first regular Parliamentary Elections in BARMM, alongside PPCRV Chair Emeritus and Co-Founder Henrietta de Villa, PPCRV National Chairperson Evelyn Singson, Commission on Elections Chairman George Garcia, and AMA Group of Companies Chairman Amb. Amable R. Aguiluz V.
PLDT Inc. is supporting technology-enabled election operations for the first regular Parliamentary Elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) through connectivity, data center infrastructure, and communications support.
The telecommunications company joined the launch of the PPCRV-AMA Command Center in Makati City, which will facilitate the unofficial parallel count for the BARMM Parliamentary Elections.
PLDT said it is providing the command center with robust and resilient connectivity to support volunteers and election stakeholders involved in coordination, monitoring, and vote-counting activities.
The support is part of PLDT Group’s broader technology infrastructure for the historic elections. The company previously announced that its VITRO data centers will host critical servers receiving data transmitted directly from automated counting machines used in the BARMM elections.
PLDT wireless arm Smart Communications is also providing prepaid SIM cards with load to support election coordination and monitoring.
The initiatives highlight the role of telecommunications networks and data center infrastructure in modern election operations, particularly in securely transmitting and handling large volumes of election-related data.
Jimenez said that, beyond providing robust and reliable connectivity, PLDT is also supporting initiatives that promote informed civic participation, including potential collaboration on voter education programs.
PLDT Chief Operating Officer Menardo G. Jimenez Jr. said reliable connectivity can help election stakeholders carry out their responsibilities while supporting transparency and public trust. The company also cited potential future collaboration on voter education initiatives to encourage informed civic participation, particularly among young Filipinos.
Through its network, data centers, and connectivity services, PLDT said it continues to support institutions using digital infrastructure for critical public functions.
