The appointment was announced during the launch of PRSP’s regional initiative, “STEWARDING PRSP: Amplifying Voices, Building Trust,” at SM City Cebu. The initiative aims to strengthen regional representation, expand professional development opportunities, and support public relations practitioners beyond Metro Manila.

PRSP President Ana Pista, APR, said the appointment marks a significant step toward making the Society more accessible to regional communicators and giving their expertise a stronger voice in the national public relations community.

Isubal-Mongaya brings more than two decades of public relations experience through PRWorks Inc., which serves clients across key economic centers in the Visayas and Mindanao.

The Cebu gathering also featured PRSP’s Professional Development Program, which covered strategic measurement, crisis communication, and responsible communication, including artificial intelligence (AI) ethics. The sessions aimed to strengthen the skills and judgment of government and corporate communications professionals amid an evolving communications landscape.

In a separate activity, PRSP partnered with MediaQuest Holdings, Inc., THINKaMuna Pilipinas, and TikTok for the THINKaMuna: Media and Truth Forum at SM Seaside City Cebu. The forum brought together students, educators, and communications practitioners to discuss misinformation, disinformation, responsible information sharing, and the role of communication in building public trust.

Through its Visayas Regional Network, PRSP aims to expand professional connections and development opportunities while strengthening public relations practice across the regions.
