Global streaming platform Rakuten Viki has premiered Kumusta, a new Korean-Filipino reality series that uses food, culture, and hospitality to connect audiences in South Korea and the Philippines.

The series stars South Korean actor Ji Chang-wook, known for popular dramas such as The K2 and Healer, in his first variety show appearance since starring in the 2025 thriller The Manipulated. In Kumusta, Ji takes on the role of head server in a restaurant dedicated to introducing Filipino cuisine and culture to Korean diners.

Joining him is a cast of Filipino celebrities, including Jodi Sta. Maria, Janella Salvador, Francine Diaz, and Arci Muñoz, who work together to manage the restaurant while showcasing Filipino hospitality and traditions.
A key highlight of the show is the culinary expertise of Michelin-starred Filipino chef JP Anglo, who developed a menu featuring iconic Filipino dishes such as inasal, kare-kare, lechon, pork sisig, bagoong, and gising-gising. The dining experience is further enhanced with Filipino-inspired versions of Korean banchan and signature calamansi drinks.
The series also features guest appearances from Korean actors Seo In-guk, Kim Myung-soo, and Kim Min-seok.
Available through Viki’s free ad-supported streaming service, Kumusta will be accessible across Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore. The launch reflects the growing role of streaming platforms in fostering cross-cultural content and expanding the reach of Asian entertainment to global audiences.
By combining reality television, food culture, and celebrity-driven storytelling, Kumusta aims to strengthen cultural ties between South Korea and the Philippines while showcasing Filipino cuisine and talent on an international platform.
