Identity security provider Saviynt has unveiled major enhancements to its Agent Access Gateway, introducing a runtime authorization system designed to govern how AI agents interact with enterprise applications, data, APIs, and infrastructure.

As organizations increasingly deploy AI agents into production environments, Saviynt warns that traditional identity and access management systems—built for static users and applications—are not equipped to evaluate autonomous, real-time actions executed by AI systems.

The updated platform introduces Intent-Aware Runtime Authorization (IARA), a new capability that assesses AI agent behavior in real time based on identity, context, policy, and intent. The system can automatically block actions that fall outside approved boundaries and generate audit logs for security oversight.

According to Saviynt Chief Product Officer Vibhuti Sinha, AI agents are emerging as a new category of enterprise identity that requires dynamic control mechanisms. The company’s approach shifts access management from static permissions to real-time decisioning based on what an AI agent is trying to do and whether it aligns with authorized intent.

The Agent Access Gateway now also enables organizations to enforce runtime controls over tool access, determine whether an AI agent is acting independently or on behalf of a human, and apply governance across inbound and outbound interactions with AI systems.

Saviynt highlighted use cases where AI agents operating in CRM or enterprise systems may attempt actions such as exporting data or modifying business rules. The platform is designed to detect mismatches between intended and actual actions before they are executed.

Additional updates include expanded identity governance for AI ecosystems and new integrations with platforms such as Microsoft Foundry, N8N, and Snowflake Cortex. The company also introduced enhanced identity verification tools, including biometric checks, liveness detection, and global document validation across more than 177 countries.

Saviynt will demonstrate the new capabilities at Identiverse, showcasing how runtime identity security can help enterprises manage the risks associated with autonomous AI systems.
