Smart Communications, Inc. has become one of the first partners to support Apple Pay in the Philippines, enabling subscribers to purchase Smart Prepaid and TNT load and pay Smart Postpaid and Smart Infinity bills using Apple’s digital wallet service starting Aug. 4.
The new payment option is available at Smart Stores nationwide and through the Smart Online Store, providing customers with an additional convenient way to complete essential transactions both in-store and online.
Apple Pay works on supported Apple devices, including iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Customers can make payments after adding an eligible credit or debit card to the Apple Wallet app.
The integration strengthens Smart’s digital services portfolio as demand for seamless and contactless payment solutions continues to grow. By adopting Apple Pay, Smart aims to simplify customer transactions while enhancing security and privacy.
Apple Pay leverages built-in security technologies such as Face ID, Touch ID, and passcode authentication. The service does not store actual card numbers on devices or Apple servers, and card details are not shared with merchants during transactions, helping protect users’ financial information.
According to Lloyd R. Manaloto, First Vice President and co-Officer-in-Charge at Smart, the company remains committed to introducing global digital innovations that improve customer experience and make everyday transactions more convenient.
The launch aligns with the broader shift toward digital payments in the Philippines, where consumers increasingly rely on mobile and contactless technologies for purchases and bill payments.
Subscribers can use Apple Pay at Smart Stores nationwide and through the Smart Online Store to buy prepaid load and settle their monthly bills.
