Vertiv officially opens its new manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, expanding its regional manufacturing capabilities to support the growing demand for AI-ready data center infrastructure and high-density computing solutions across Asia. The new facility will produce advanced power, cooling, and liquid cooling technologies designed to accelerate AI and cloud infrastructure deployments throughout the region.

Vertiv has officially opened a new manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, expanding its regional production capacity to meet growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-density computing infrastructure across Asia-Pacific.

Located in Senai, Johor, the 236,000-square-foot facility will serve customers across Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia, and New Zealand by providing regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and deployment capabilities for critical digital infrastructure.

Vertiv said the new site strengthens its ability to deliver power, cooling, and integrated infrastructure solutions needed to support AI-ready data centers, cloud computing, and colocation facilities as demand for AI workloads continues to accelerate.

Strategically located in Senai, Johor—one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing industrial hubs—Vertiv’s new manufacturing facility strengthens the company’s regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and deployment capabilities, enabling faster delivery of AI-ready power, cooling, and critical digital infrastructure solutions across Asia.

“Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment,” said Giordano “Gio” Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. He added that the facility enhances the company’s ability to provide customers with scalable, resilient, and high-quality infrastructure solutions while supporting long-term growth across the region.

The Johor plant will manufacture advanced thermal management and power systems, including liquid cooling technologies such as the Vertiv™ CoolChip coolant distribution units (CDUs), modular power solutions, and prefabricated infrastructure designed to accelerate AI data center deployment.

According to Vertiv, the facility features automated manufacturing processes, dedicated liquid cooling validation environments, and comprehensive end-of-line testing to ensure the reliability of AI infrastructure before deployment.

The site is expected to create up to 500 skilled jobs by 2027, contributing to Malaysia’s growing role as a regional hub for advanced manufacturing and digital infrastructure.

During the launch, Invest Johor CEO Tuan Haji Natazha Hariss welcomed the investment, highlighting its potential to generate high-value employment opportunities, strengthen local industry capabilities, and support long-term economic growth.

The Johor facility supports end-to-end manufacturing, assembly, and witness testing, enabling faster deployment of high-density AI infrastructure and strengthening Vertiv’s ability to deliver reliable, AI-ready power and cooling solutions across Asia.

Paul Churchill, Vice President and General Manager for Vertiv Asia, said the new facility will allow the company to respond more quickly to customers deploying increasingly complex AI and high-density computing environments, where regional proximity and execution speed are becoming critical.

The expansion reflects the rapid growth of AI infrastructure across Asia as enterprises, hyperscale cloud providers, and data center operators invest heavily in next-generation computing platforms requiring advanced power and cooling technologies.
