Philippine enterprises must move beyond artificial intelligence (AI) experimentation and focus on deploying solutions that deliver measurable business results, according to discussions at the 9th Annual VST ECS CXO Tech Summit 2026.

Held from October 20 to 23 at Shangri-La Boracay, the invitation-only summit brings together senior technology and business leaders under the theme “Rethinking IT: Powering the AI-Driven Enterprise.” The event focuses on helping Philippine organizations transition AI initiatives from pilot projects to operational deployments.

Jimmy Go, president and CEO of VST ECS Philippines Inc., emphasized the growing role of AI in business strategy, saying technology is “now the business itself.”

“AI was a demo, and last year it was a pilot. This year, it moved into production under real pressures,” Go said, describing how enterprise AI adoption has progressed.

However, the expansion of AI infrastructure is also creating challenges. According to the summit update, rising demand for computing power has contributed to global memory and storage shortages, increasing hardware costs and potentially delaying some enterprise deployments until 2027. At the same time, investments in local cloud infrastructure and data centers are creating opportunities for organizations preparing to scale their AI capabilities.

Summit Sessions Focus on AI Infrastructure, Security and Data

The summit’s breakout sessions covered four key areas aimed at helping organizations prepare for the demands of AI-driven operations.

Securing AI and the enterprise addressed security operations center automation, zero-trust enforcement, API security, and DNS-based threat detection as organizations expand their digital environments.

Building AI-ready infrastructure examined campus networks, data center design, AI “token factories,” modern networking models, and edge AI deployments.

Getting the data foundation right explored why AI pilots fail to reach production, how AI is changing the value of enterprise data, and why data resilience is essential to successful implementation.

Understanding the real cost and impact of AI examined the economics of running AI systems, AI’s potential role as an enterprise operating system, and its effects on productivity and day-to-day IT operations.

The sessions ran simultaneously across four rooms, highlighting the infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and operational considerations involved in deploying AI at scale.

Business and Technology Leaders Convene in Boracay

The event gathers chief information officers, chief technology officers, chief information security officers, IT directors, and digital transformation leaders from organizations across the Philippines.

Government agencies, the armed forces, and the judiciary are also represented, alongside delegates from banking and financial services, healthcare, education, retail, food manufacturing, energy, utilities, telecommunications, business process outsourcing, property, hospitality, and logistics.

Their participation reflects the broad impact of AI adoption across industries, where organizations must evaluate not only the technology itself but also its security, infrastructure requirements, costs, and potential business value.

Technology Providers Share Enterprise AI Expertise

VST ECS Philippines Inc., an information and communications technology distributor, connects global technology brands with local resellers, system integrators, and enterprise customers. Its portfolio includes infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, software, and consumer devices.

Resource speakers and technology providers at the summit include Stellar Cyber, Fortinet, Akamai, iboss, EfficientIP, Versa Networks, Huawei, APC by Schneider Electric, H3C, Arista Networks, Samsung B2B, ASUS, Nutanix, YugabyteDB, Seagate, NetApp, Rubrik, Cloudera, HPE, Cisco, Oracle, Dell Technologies, HP, and Hexnode.

Plenary speakers and participating technology organizations also include AMD, VMware by Broadcom, Adobe, Autodesk, AWS, Archer, Fastly, TrendAI, Lenovo, and Synology, among others.

As enterprises increasingly integrate AI into business operations, the summit highlights the need to align AI investments with secure infrastructure, reliable data, manageable operating costs, and measurable outcomes.

The discussions underscore a key shift in enterprise technology strategy: the priority is no longer simply testing what AI can do, but determining how it can deliver practical and sustainable business value.
