EastWest Bank is expanding its digital banking capabilities through EasyWay, allowing customers to open savings accounts and apply for credit cards directly from their mobile devices.
Since digital account opening was introduced, 47% of new accounts have been opened through EasyWay, reflecting growing customer adoption of digital onboarding. The development comes as digital payments continue to gain ground in the Philippines, with digital transactions accounting for 64.7% of payments in 2025, up from 57.4% in 2024, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Through EasyWay, eligible customers can open savings accounts using a valid ID, while existing users can open additional peso and foreign-currency deposit accounts. Customers can also apply for EastWest credit cards, submit requirements, and complete identity verification within the app.
Beyond account opening, EasyWay provides tools for fund transfers, bill payments, transaction monitoring, and account management through a single platform.
EastWest said the enhanced features support its phygital banking approach, combining digital services with personalized customer support. EasyWay forms part of the bank’s broader digital ecosystem, alongside Komo for payments and ESTA for customer support.
