Equinix has launched its Enhanced Performance Innovation Centers (EPIC), a global network of production-ready liquid cooling environments designed to help enterprises test and deploy high-density artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
The EPIC centers are now operating in Frankfurt, London, Osaka, Paris, and Sydney, with additional locations planned for 2027. They allow businesses to evaluate liquid-cooled graphics processing units (GPUs) and central processing units (CPUs), test AI training and inference workloads, and identify potential infrastructure issues before large-scale deployment.
As AI workloads demand greater computing power, data centers face increasing requirements for rack density, cooling capacity, power delivery, and network connectivity. Liquid cooling is becoming essential for managing the heat generated by high-performance computing systems, but integrating these technologies can pose operational challenges for enterprises.
Through EPIC, customers can work with Equinix specialists and technology partners to assess liquid cooling systems under real-world conditions inside operational data centers. The initiative aims to help organizations validate infrastructure configurations, gain hands-on experience, and reduce deployment risks before committing to production-scale AI systems.
“EPIC provides businesses with a place to test, validate and build with confidence before they commit to large-scale deployments,” said Brian Stein, senior vice president of Infrastructure Products and Services at Equinix.
The program builds on Equinix’s previous innovation initiatives, including its Co-Innovation Facility introduced in 2022 and Solution Validation Centers launched in 2024. EPIC extends this approach to liquid cooling and high-density AI infrastructure.
Equinix said enterprises interested in visiting an EPIC location can contact their account team or visit its EPIC Liquid Cooling program page.
