Slack has launched Slack Frontline, a mobile-first collaboration platform designed to connect frontline workers with enterprise systems, artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and headquarters teams.
Available as an add-on for businesses using Slack Enterprise+, the platform targets retail associates, healthcare providers, manufacturing and warehouse workers, hospitality staff, and field service teams who often lack access to traditional workplace collaboration tools.
Slack Frontline provides up to 10 role-relevant channels, instant Huddles for real-time communication, AI agents for on-demand answers, and automated workflows to simplify routine tasks. It also integrates with Salesforce data and systems, enabling employees to access authorized information and take action while on the job.
The platform is designed to replace fragmented communication methods, such as paper checklists and unmanaged messaging apps, with a centralized digital workspace. Employees can access shift handoffs, task lists, safety updates, training materials, and company announcements through their mobile devices.
Security features include employee ID, QR code, or corporate email sign-in, multifactor authentication, and administrative controls for apps and AI agents. Enterprise+ compliance configurations also support requirements such as HIPAA, FINRA, and data residency, depending on customer agreements and availability.
Slack says the platform can help organizations improve operational efficiency, reduce delays, and strengthen customer service by connecting frontline teams with the information and expertise they need in real time.
The launch reflects the growing role of AI-powered collaboration and workflow automation in extending digital transformation beyond office-based employees to the wider workforce.
