Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has appointed logistics veteran Garrick Thompson as managing director of FedEx Philippines, where he will lead more than 1,300 employees and oversee operations supporting cross-border trade.
Thompson will focus on operational excellence, customer experience, and helping Philippine businesses expand their global reach through FedEx’s transportation and logistics network. He will also oversee the Asia Pacific Trade Facilitation Center, which manages customs clearance, trade compliance, and critical cargo documentation across Asia Pacific, the United States, Canada, and Europe.
The appointment brings Thompson back to the Philippines after more than five years as managing director of FedEx Indonesia. He joined FedEx in New Zealand in 2007 and has held leadership positions spanning human resources, operations, and sales.
In his new role, Thompson will also oversee continued investments in the Philippines, including the expansion of the company’s Clark facility. The gateway serves as a key transshipment hub supporting regional connectivity and FedEx’s broader Southeast Asia growth strategy.
With more than 40 years of operations in the Philippines, FedEx connects local businesses and consumers to markets in more than 220 countries and territories, supporting the growth of cross-border trade and e-commerce.
