Fiuu and JCB leaders mark the milestone following Fiuu’s securing of the JCB Direct Acquiring license across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Ltd., Malaysia Branch), Shimpei Yamaguchi (Managing Director of JCB International Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.), Eng Sheng Guan (Chief Executive Officer of Fiuu), Jacqueline Lim (Chief Business Development Officer of Fiuu), and Oon Wee Keong (Chief Operating Officer of Fiuu).

The partnership strengthens regional digital payment capabilities by enabling more seamless JCB payment acceptance for merchants across Southeast Asia.

Fiuu, a leading fintech platform in Southeast Asia, has secured a JCB Direct Acquiring license that allows the company to process JCB card transactions directly across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, strengthening its regional payment capabilities.

The license enables Fiuu to connect directly with JCB, reducing dependence on intermediaries and giving merchants a more reliable way to accept JCB payments across online and physical channels.

Through direct acquiring, Fiuu gains greater control over transaction processing, settlement operations, payment performance, and merchant support. The company said this will help provide faster settlement processes, improved transaction visibility, and a more consistent payment experience for JCB Cardmembers.

The milestone builds on Fiuu’s growing regional payment infrastructure. In fiscal year 2025, the company processed US$13 billion in total payment volume, demonstrating its ability to support high-volume digital transactions across multiple industries and markets.

As Southeast Asia’s digital commerce ecosystem continues to expand, Fiuu said strong card acceptance remains essential alongside the rapid growth of QR payments and digital wallets. The company noted that millions of consumers continue to rely on credit cards due to established payment habits and rewards programs.

“This milestone reflects the next phase of Fiuu’s regional acquiring growth,” said Eng Sheng Guan, CEO of Fiuu. He added that direct connectivity with payment networks will help businesses expand across Southeast Asia with greater reliability and broader customer reach.

JCB, a global payment brand and major card issuer and acquirer in Japan, reported 181 million cards issued globally and acceptance at 72 million merchants worldwide as of 2026. Through the partnership, Fiuu aims to expand JCB acceptance across its merchant network and provide businesses access to more JCB Cardmembers.

“We are delighted to partner with Fiuu as our Regional Acquirer for Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines,” said Shimpei Yamaguchi, Managing Director of JCB International Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., highlighting the role of the collaboration in expanding payment accessibility across Southeast Asia.

Fiuu plans to extend its direct acquiring capabilities to Thailand as part of its broader regional expansion strategy. The company aims to become a leading card scheme acquirer in Southeast Asia by offering businesses secure, scalable, and locally supported payment solutions.
