Ford Philippines marked a major milestone with the 25th anniversary of the Henry Ford Awards, the country’s only awards program dedicated to recognizing excellence in automotive journalism.

With the theme “Stars and Stories in Silver,” this year’s ceremony honored 25 outstanding journalists and media outlets that have shaped the Philippine motoring media landscape over the past quarter-century.

Ford Philippines Managing Director Pedro Simoes highlighted the vital role of motoring journalists in bridging the automotive industry and the public, emphasizing their contribution in telling stories that inform and inspire Filipino consumers.

To commemorate the milestone edition, Ford also recognized 19 Silver Mile Luminaries—comprising 15 individual journalists and 4 media organizations—acknowledging their consistent excellence and influence in automotive storytelling. Honorees include well-known names such as James Deakin, Tessa Salazar, Vernon Sarne, and publications like the Philippine Daily Inquirer Motoring Section and Top Gear Philippines.

The awards also spotlighted emerging voices in motoring media through competitive categories such as Automotive Vehicle Review of the Year, Ford Launch Story of the Year, and Automotive Video Feature of the Year. Winning entries showcased strong storytelling across both written and video formats, reflecting the evolving digital landscape of automotive journalism.

A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Butch Gamboa Lifetime Achievement Award to Manila Bulletin Executive Editor Pinky Concha-Colmenares, honoring her long-standing impact on automotive journalism and her contribution to elevating industry standards.

Now in its 25th year, the Henry Ford Awards continues to serve as a benchmark for excellence in motoring media in the Philippines, celebrating both legacy voices and the next generation of automotive storytellers.
