GoTyme Bank has announced the availability of Apple Pay for its debit card customers in the Philippines, enabling users to make secure and convenient contactless payments using their iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac.

The launch expands digital payment options for GoTyme Bank customers, allowing them to use Apple Pay for in-store purchases, online shopping, and in-app transactions. The move aligns with the bank’s efforts to deliver global-standard banking experiences and enhance payment convenience for Filipino consumers.

“At GoTyme Bank, we’re constantly looking for ways to make banking more seamless for our customers. Bringing Apple Pay to GoTyme Bank customers in the Philippines gives them an easy and secure way to pay wherever they shop,” said Nate Clarke, CEO of GoTyme Bank.

Apple Pay enables users to make contactless payments by double-clicking the side button on their iPhone or Apple Watch, authenticating with Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode, and holding the device near a compatible payment terminal. The service is accepted at merchants that support contactless payments, including grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, coffee shops, and retail outlets.

Beyond in-store payments, Apple Pay can also be used on iPhone, iPad, and Mac for faster online and in-app purchases, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter payment and shipping details.

Security remains a key feature of Apple Pay. Instead of storing actual card numbers on devices or servers, the platform uses a unique Device Account Number that is encrypted and securely stored in the device’s Secure Element chip. Every transaction is further protected through biometric authentication and a one-time dynamic security code.

Customers can activate Apple Pay by opening the Wallet app on their iPhone, tapping the “+” icon, and following the prompts to add their GoTyme Bank debit card. Existing card benefits and rewards will continue to apply when using Apple Pay.

The rollout represents another step in GoTyme Bank’s digital banking strategy as it continues to expand innovative and customer-focused financial services in the Philippines.
