Honor of Kings, widely recognized as the world’s most-played multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), brought its growing Philippine community together through a large-scale Festival of Lanterns event at Eastwood Central Plaza.
The gathering highlighted how gaming platforms are evolving beyond gameplay into community-driven ecosystems, combining live events, content creation, and esports engagement. Hosted by esports personalities Ingan and Butters, the event featured interactive booths, stage activities, and a PKL Watch Party—blending competitive gaming with real-world fan experiences.

A major highlight was the reveal of “Mr. 1,” unveiled as esports personalities VeeWise, alongside a symbolic lighting ceremony that emphasized themes of unity and community creativity. The event also introduced prominent creators such as KCbae, Ian Tayao, and Chano, reinforcing the game’s push toward creator-led engagement.
In a key esports development, professional player Oheb officially joined the Honor of Kings roster. Known as the “Filipino Sniper,” Oheb’s entry is expected to strengthen the game’s competitive presence in Southeast Asia, reflecting the increasing importance of star players in driving esports visibility and audience growth.
Looking ahead, the Honor of Kings Philippines team announced a slate of 2026 initiatives, including a Content Creator Program, Creator Cup Season 2, and expanded grassroots efforts such as Barangay Roadshow Season 2. These programs highlight the game’s strategy to integrate esports, user-generated content, and community events into a unified growth model.
The event also showcased localized in-game content, including the Ascension: Arnisadora skin inspired by the Filipino martial art Arnis, signaling a continued focus on cultural relevance in game design.
As mobile esports continues to expand in the Philippines, events like the Festival of Lanterns demonstrate how titles like Honor of Kings are building hybrid online-offline ecosystems—where competitive gaming, content creation, and community engagement converge to shape the future of interactive entertainment.
