On Earth Day, OPPO highlighted its growing focus on sustainability, outlining how technology, innovation, and data-driven processes are helping reduce environmental impact across its global operations.
Serving over 760 million users worldwide, OPPO reaffirmed its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Central to this goal is the integration of sustainable practices into product design, packaging, and lifecycle management—demonstrating how tech companies are leveraging innovation to address environmental challenges.

One key initiative is OPPO’s “3R+1D” packaging framework—Reduction, Recyclability, Reusability, and Degradability. By digitizing product manuals and guidance materials, the company saved approximately 110 million A4 sheets in 2025, reducing both deforestation and carbon emissions. It has also incorporated biomass materials, such as tea residue, into packaging to replace a portion of petroleum-based plastics.
Beyond packaging, OPPO is addressing the growing global issue of electronic waste through durability-focused engineering and improved recycling systems. As e-waste continues to rise worldwide, the company reported recycling over 1,100 tons of used devices in 2025 across China and Europe, supporting a more circular approach to consumer electronics.
Technology also plays a role in OPPO’s environmental partnerships. Using the advanced imaging capabilities of the OPPO Find X9, the company supports wildlife conservation efforts in Kenya by enabling researchers to track rhinos through high-resolution telephoto photography—reducing the need for bulky equipment while improving data accuracy.
In India, OPPO collaborated with All India Council for Technical Education to launch the Generation Green Initiative, mobilizing thousands of young volunteers to process electronic waste and raise environmental awareness. The program reflects how digital platforms and connected communities can scale sustainability efforts.
Through a combination of AI-enabled tools, advanced hardware, and global partnerships, OPPO is positioning technology as a key driver in environmental protection. As sustainability becomes a critical priority for the tech industry, initiatives like these signal a broader shift toward greener, more responsible innovation.
