Identity security company SailPoint has announced plans to acquire cybersecurity startup Entro, a move aimed at expanding its capabilities in securing non-human identities (NHIs), AI agents, and machine-driven workloads across enterprise environments.

The acquisition is expected to enhance SailPoint’s recently launched Agentic Fabric platform, which focuses on governing and protecting autonomous AI agents and machine identities. As organizations increasingly deploy AI-powered systems, cloud services, APIs, and automated workflows, managing access and credentials has become a growing cybersecurity challenge.

Entro specializes in discovering and securing non-human identities and credentials, including API keys, tokens, certificates, and secrets used by applications, cloud services, and AI agents. Following the acquisition, SailPoint plans to integrate Entro’s technology into Agentic Fabric to provide broader visibility and governance over machine identities.

Key capabilities expected from the integration include support for more than 1,000 non-human identity and AI agent types, discovery of over 1,200 credential types, and coverage across more than 70 enterprise platforms, including cloud environments, developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and SaaS applications.

The combined platform will also offer enhanced ownership attribution, enabling organizations to link non-human identities to human owners for accountability and compliance. In addition, real-time monitoring and detection features will help identify suspicious behavior, overprivileged access, and potential security threats involving AI agents and machine identities.

SailPoint said the acquisition aligns with its strategy of delivering adaptive identity security for the AI era, where security decisions increasingly depend on understanding who—or what—is accessing enterprise data and systems.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed during SailPoint’s third quarter of fiscal year 2027.
