Shopee Philippines is strengthening its support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by launching a sustained digital commerce coaching program with the Iloilo City Government under the Sustainable Income Generation Through Entrepreneurship (SIGE) Asenso initiative.

The collaboration marks the first time Shopee’s Tatak Pinoy MSME Roadshow has evolved from a one-time training workshop into an ongoing local government partnership, providing entrepreneurs with regular guidance on building and growing online businesses.

The announcement coincides with the completion of the Roadshow’s first year, during which more than 1,200 businesses across 20 cities and municipalities received digital commerce training. The program aims to make e-commerce education more accessible by bringing practical online selling, logistics, and financial management training directly to local communities.

Under the new partnership, Shopee, SPX, and Monee will conduct quarterly coaching sessions for participants enrolled in Iloilo City’s SIGE Asenso capacity-building programs. The training will cover key aspects of running an online business, including e-commerce operations, logistics and fulfillment, financial literacy, and cash flow management.

Eligible graduates who begin selling on Shopee will also receive a six-month onboarding support package, ongoing coaching between training sessions, and access to information on business registration and government services.

The initiative highlights the growing role of digital platforms in empowering Philippine MSMEs to participate in the digital economy. By combining e-commerce tools, logistics support, and financial education, the program aims to help entrepreneurs adopt technology-driven business models and expand their online presence.

The partnership also involved collaboration with government agencies, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Agriculture (DA), and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), providing entrepreneurs with easier access to business registration and compliance services.

As the Tatak Pinoy MSME Roadshow enters its second year, Shopee said it plans to explore similar long-term partnerships with other local governments to further strengthen digital entrepreneurship and support MSME growth across the country.
