A new era has arrived in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports as Team Spirit became the first team from outside Southeast Asia to win an official international MLBB major tournament, capturing the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2026 title at the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Paris, France.
Representing the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region, Team Spirit defeated Myanmar’s Yangon Galacticos in a thrilling 4-3 Grand Final series to claim the championship trophy and a USD 1 million prize. The victory marks a historic breakthrough for MLBB’s global expansion efforts, ending Southeast Asia’s dominance of the tournament.

Team Spirit’s championship run included victories over Malaysia’s Team Vamos and Indonesia’s ONIC in the knockout stage. The triumph makes EECA only the fourth region to win the MSC, joining Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
The tournament also showcased increasing competitiveness from emerging MLBB regions. Former champions Team Liquid Philippines and Selangor Red Giants were eliminated during the group stage, highlighting the growing global depth of the MLBB esports ecosystem.
Beyond competition, MSC 2026 delivered record-breaking audience engagement. According to Esports Charts, the tournament became the most-watched event of the 2026 Esports World Cup, reaching 2.89 million peak concurrent viewers, generating more than 45.2 million hours watched, and averaging over 511,000 concurrent viewers.
Industry analysts also noted the growing influence of community streamers, who accounted for 34% of total tournament viewership—the highest share ever recorded for an MLBB event at the Esports World Cup.
The milestone victory reinforces MOONTON Games’ strategy to globalize MLBB Esports, with upcoming initiatives including MLBB’s debut at the 20th Asian Games in Japan, the M8 World Championship Finals in Türkiye, and the inaugural Esports Nations Cup 2026 in Saudi Arabia.
Team Spirit’s success signals a major shift in the global MLBB competitive landscape, proving that championship-caliber talent is emerging far beyond the game’s traditional Southeast Asian strongholds.
